On the 14th of December 29 children and adults visited the Pavilion Theatre in Worthing to see this year's Panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The One and Only Chesney Hawkes played Prince Benedict and didn’t seem to have aged much since 1991!
The show had everything, great music, amazing singing, humour, outrageous Dame Dolly costumes and of course the fairy tale ending.
The adults in the audience were well catered for with Richard David-Caine and his witty responses and quips at every turn, whilst playing the evil henchman Herman. We were treated to a good old fashioned slapstick performance in the middle of the second act where Herman, Muddles and Dame Dolly tried to keep composed while struggling to stay up right with super soakers and foam. They finally ended up in the audience!!!
The Wicked Queen and Snow White had absolutely fantastic voices and the dancers and children, all picked from local open auditions, did a fabulous job.
We hope to be able to arrange a trip to the panto again next year it is Aladdin so keep checking on the SCPA web page or Facebook for information about that and any other events that may be coming up.
