Golf Day – June 2012

On Sunday 24th June, Shoreham College held its first Golf Day at Hassocks Golf Club. The teams comprised of staff, parents, pupils plus OSA members. The rain that threatened to fall, held off, the clouds blew away and we were treated to some sunshine throughout the afternoon. However, the wind really picked up, just as David Abbott was about to tee off! This made challenging conditions for the golfers but they took it all in their stride. After bacon baps and coffee had been consumed and 18 holes had been completed, the team competition and first prize of a Four Ball at East Sussex National, was won by Peter Leach, Robin Newbon & Nigel Harrington. Prizes were also awarded for Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive. Presentations and a sumptuous barbeque rounded off a very enjoyable day.

Congratulations go to all the winners and to everyone who took part.

Next year’s Golf Day will take place at Singing Hills Golf Course on the 23rd June 2013.
